Education First

La Plaza operates under the belief that education is the sure path for prosperity for the Hispanic community. Scholarship and grant opportunities are continuously updated for La Plaza users. Online education materials are also provided.

"Our country was built on and continues to thrive on its diversity. There is no doubt that the future of the United States is inextricable linked to the future of the Hispanic community."
- President Barack Obama

On Oct. 19, 2010, President Obama signed Executive Order 13555, renewing the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. This historic event demonstrated the President’s strong support for the critical role Hispanics play in the overall prosperity of the nation and highlights the Administration’s commitment to expanding education opportunities and improving education outcomes for all students.

Users can communicate directly with the White House Advisors to provide proposals for new policies, ideas for reform, and to present insight into the community. All suggestions can be reviewed and voted on by other users. The White House will respond to and highlight top postings, as well as integrate those ideas into policy-making.

Speak Up!

Voice your opinion. Have ideas regarding policies affecting the Hispanic community? Want to get the word out about your initiative, career opportunity, or volunteer opening? Desire to network with others in the community? La Plaza offers a platform for the Hispanic community to be heard and to tap into what the community is saying.

Get Involved

La Plaza offers opportunities to directly support your community. Submit proposals to top challenges identified by the US government, donate to schools nationwide, and post and discover volunteer opportunities in your area. La Plaza is where we can come together to take part in the future development of our community.
